Sunday Praise and a Prayer to Be Pleasing to Him

 

Dear Heavenly Father,

We praise your holy and precious Name. We give you glory for all you’ve done in and through our lives, for giving the Lord Jesus to be the Author and Finisher of our faith and your Holy Spirit to walk alongside us as we go through the trials that mature our faith.

Thank you, too, for the people you’ve so lovingly placed in our lives that we might pray for and encourage one another on this life’s journey.

I pray whatever we do in this life we would would make it our goal to be pleasing to you, our Lord and Master. Whether it’s serving as a missionary across the world or being a good neighbor, whether it’s helping in children’s ministry or doing the dishes, whether it’s visiting the sick in hospitals or driving through rush hour traffic with all humility, may we do it all for you, Lord. 

You are our joy and hope, you are the reason we live and everything we do we do for you. Help us remember to live every day in such a way that when we face you at the Bema Seat of Christ, we will not be ashamed, but we will have lived a life that brought your light and fragrance to a lost and dying world and glorified you in everything we did.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Sunday Praise and a Prayer for Peace

 

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise your mighty name, oh LORD. We ascribe to you all glory and strength. Holy and Righteous is your name.

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    He who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, He who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.”
Psalm 121:1-4

Father, we lift up Israel to you and pray for the salvation of your beloved people. May you deliver them from their enemies, both seen and unseen. May you pour out your Holy Spirit that He might give ears to hear, eyes to see, and hearts to receive Yeshua Ha’Mashiach, Jesus the Messiah. It’s in His name we pray, amen.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
    His love endures forever.
Cry out, ‘Save us, God our Savior;
    gather us and deliver us from the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name,
    and glory in your praise.’
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
    from everlasting to everlasting.”

Sunday Praise and a Prayer

 

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you today and praise your mighty name. Even though we don’t always understand what you’re doing in our lives, maybe even rarely, we know you have a plan and you’re working everything together for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purposes. You do everything well. 

Thank you for giving us a sense of humor to help lighten those heavy loads, to bring some cheerfulness to those dark days. Things can get pretty crazy, as you know, and you knew we’d need a way to bring a smile to our face. We’re so thankful for the amazingly thoughtful Father you are.

We praise You because we are fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, we know that full well. (Psalm 139:14)

Lord, help us to always remember and be grateful for the beautiful and complex way you’ve created us, and most of all, that you created us in your image. Only by your creative and thoughtful hand could that be accomplished, and we give you all the praise and honor and glory. 

In Jesus’ most holy and precious name we pray, amen.

Sunday Praise and a Prayer of Gratefulness

Our dear, precious Heavenly Father, we praise your holy name, the name above all other names. We are overwhelmed at your goodness and provision. Thank you for seeing us and our needs long before we have them and for providing in ways we could never think or imagine.

We praise you and thank you for the move of your Holy Spirit on various groups around the world. May salvation, repentance, and the joy of your Spirit continue to spread as far and wide as your will determines, and may no one stop it.

Where space or facilities or food, whatever is needed, may you please provide. 

May revival come to all our hearts by the power of your Holy Spirit.

We pray, too, for those impacted by the many disasters around the world. May you comfort the grieving, may you provide whatever is needed, and may you give strength and courage to the workers. Above all, LORD, we pray for the drawing of your Holy Spirit for salvation. 

There is no one like you, LORD, and we praise you and thank you for all you are and all you do. May our hearts be ready to honor and glorify you with our lives at all times in all circumstances. 

We echo the words of our brother Paul:

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

We pray it all in the mighty name of Jesus, amen!


I pray you carry the joy of the Lord with you throughout the week. As you abide in Him, may His Spirit fill you and rest on you to give wisdom, direction, and produce in you every fruit He provides. May His love lead you in all you do and say.

Sunday Praise and a Song – The Beautiful Letdown

Our Dear Heavenly Father, we praise your holy and precious Name. We lift up high the Name above all names, our Savior, our Messiah, our King, our Lord Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for giving us eternal life through the power of your shed blood and for preparing a place for each of us who have believed on you. 

May we never be satisfied with this world. May the disappointments and letdowns we have here remind us that we live for something, Someone, more, and may we find our satisfaction in a constantly abiding relationship with you.

I pray we remember we’re only passing through here as foreigners and strangers, and that we live for the day when we are completed in your presence and live in joy with you forevermore.  In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Sunday Praise and a Prayer of Faith

 

“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and the Holy and Precious Name of Jesus Christ who conquered the grave, giving us life, and the Holy Spirit who dwells within the hearts of those who believe in Him and have put their faith and hope in Him. 
 
In faith, LORD, we look forward to the many more miracles you will do today and every day. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 
 
In Him, Father, and for Him alone we live and move and have our being, and it’s in His precious name we pray, amen.

‘Hosanna to the Son of David!’

Dear Heavenly Father, we praise you today and every day as we remember what you’ve done through your Son, and what you have prepared for our future. 

Christ’s triumphal entry was but a small foretaste of the victorious never-ending glory we’ll revel in while in the presence of our Savior and King. 

Thank you, Holy Father, for your immeasurable grace and mercy. Through all we must endure here, we look forward to this most joyful time, celebrating with You and one another the victory you’ve won for us.

Sunday Praise and a Prayer for My Thoughts

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise your holy Name. You are my Rock and my place of refuge and strength. 

Father, in this time when so much is going on in the world and in my own life, and the enemy tries to use it all to take my attention away from you and fill my heart with fear, I ask you to help me to take my thoughts captive and make them obedient to Christ, to fix my mind on Him, His love for me, and His power over the enemy. Throughout this week, empower me with your Holy Spirit to think on those things that will bring me hope and peace. Remind me of all your blessings and the way you constantly care for me. 

I pray my thoughts, my words, my actions, my life bring you glory. In Jesus’ holy name I pray, amen.

Sunday Praise and a Prayer to Be Ready

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’

And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'”

Heavenly Father, we praise you for all you are and all you do. We ask for forgiveness of our sins and a renewal of our spirit. 

Lord, even though this scripture is an account of words spoken between you and Isaiah, may they be our attitude and words to you, too. Our lives are yours.  Make us useful in your hands and ready, and when you desire us to go, to do, to speak, whether it’s to a family member, a neighbor, a stranger, or a crowd, we pray you would strengthen us as we take that step of faith with humble hearts, boldness, fearlessness (or at least obedience in the fear!), and do it all in your love that we would be proper witnesses of your holy, gentle, and gracious character. 

We submit ourselves to you, Lord. We are your servants.
